Transforming Student Reading with Subtext and the iPad

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Learn how the iPad app Subtext can transform curriculum at all levels, allowing students to connect to and discuss literature and PDF articles in real-time. This app engages students in reading in innovative and exciting ways, and allows teachers to reach their students on many levels. We will look at two units from a sixth grade English classroom -- focusing on novel studies of The Giver and Lions of Little Rock -- and discuss application across other disciplines as well. This presentation applies to teachers and administrators currently using or considering adding iPads in the classroom.

Sixth Grade English Teacher, Dwight Englewood School
I've been teaching sixth grade for my entire career. I love working at a middle school! I've used Subtext for three years, and my school has been 1:1 with iPads for the last year and a half. I'm very interested in using technology in my English classroom, including Google Drive. I look forward to meeting other teachers at this conference!
