Digital Storytelling apps are tools students can use to create content about their learning. In this presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to see how digital storytelling was used to promote literacy learning with struggling readers in a literacy program at a university for students in grades 1 – 10. Attendees will get to view digital stories the students made and learn about different digital storytelling apps that can be used. Further, they will also learn strategies for guiding struggling readers to organize and synthesize information to create digital stories.

I am a professor in literacy education, which means I teach teachers how to teach kids how to read. Increasingly, that also involves teaching teachers how to help kids be literate with technology.
