Common Core Literacy Integration with App Flows
This presentation showcases an efficient way to integrate apps in all subjects with a focus on inclusion of Common Core literacy. Specifically this session will share digital tools and techniques for using the iPad to help students in any content area: use close reading skills to process complex texts; write with a variety of media tools; and use speaking and listening skills to process content. An App Flow lesson planning process will be shared as an efficient way to incorporate these strategies on a regular basis.

Building and Storytelling with your iPad
What motivates you to be creative? What motivates our students to be creative and express themselves in writing? In this session we will explore how Legos as well as other story starters can be great motivation for telling digital stories using the iPad. We will explore the connection between getting hands-on with Legos and using a structured storytelling model, the Ohler story transformation process, to create and write stories with impact. We will share the Lego Story Visualizer app as well as other free and paid digital storytelling and writing/literacy apps.

Elementary iPad Workflow: Utilizing the iPad Cart
Using a variety of resources, including iCloud and Google Drive, Franklin Academy K-2 teachers have been able to establish an effective and simple workflow process for the iPad carts. This workflow allows students in kindergarten, first and second grade to create using the devices and share their projects with teachers.
