Common Core Literacy Integration with App Flows
This presentation showcases an efficient way to integrate apps in all subjects with a focus on inclusion of Common Core literacy. Specifically this session will share digital tools and techniques for using the iPad to help students in any content area: use close reading skills to process complex texts; write with a variety of media tools; and use speaking and listening skills to process content. An App Flow lesson planning process will be shared as an efficient way to incorporate these strategies on a regular basis.

Transforming Student Reading with Subtext and the iPad
Learn how the iPad app Subtext can transform curriculum at all levels, allowing students to connect to and discuss literature and PDF articles in real-time. This app engages students in reading in innovative and exciting ways, and allows teachers to reach their students on many levels. We will look at two units from a sixth grade English classroom -- focusing on novel studies of The Giver and Lions of Little Rock -- and discuss application across other disciplines as well.
