Common Core Literacy Integration with App Flows
This presentation showcases an efficient way to integrate apps in all subjects with a focus on inclusion of Common Core literacy. Specifically this session will share digital tools and techniques for using the iPad to help students in any content area: use close reading skills to process complex texts; write with a variety of media tools; and use speaking and listening skills to process content. An App Flow lesson planning process will be shared as an efficient way to incorporate these strategies on a regular basis.

Elementary Students Take iPads Home: Mobile-Assisted Instructional Design Strategies for Tutoring
With a need to decrease disparity and support at-risk students that were not meeting grade level benchmarks for math, a team of elementary teachers and university faculty created a mobile-assisted instructional design strategy for home tutoring with iPads for elementary students. The new model used evidence-based research from indirect instructional design strategies of computer-assisted instruction and two additional instructional strategies to supply independent direct instruction: drill and practice and experiential learning through gaming. Current data analysis from 'iPads Go Home' indicates a connection between improved learning outcomes and iPad application use, while decreasing issues of disparity for at-risk students.

Engaging the Active Learner
I would begin the lesson by having the audience to access the information via the Remind 101 app. I would present a brief lesson regarding the Persian wars using Blendspace to post notes and video to view. I will add a video summary worksheet for completion. The audience will then be engaged using Kahoot.it to assess knowledge.
